GDPR notice

Information for people in the EU and EEA

This notice is provided under Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for people in the European Union or the European Economic Area who contact us about our services. For people in Türkiye, our KVKK notice applies.

1. Controller

The controller of your personal data is Silsile Yayın Teknolojileri. For any question about data protection, write to info@silsilepress.com.

As we are established in Türkiye and offer services to people in the EU, the Regulation applies to this processing under Article 3(2)(a).

2. Data we process

  • Your name and email address; your phone number if you reach us on WhatsApp or by phone.
  • Your institution, country and type of organisation.
  • The topics you are interested in and your message.
  • IP address: held in server memory for at most one minute, only to block a burst of submissions, and not stored.
  • Server logs: when you visit the site, your IP address, the time of access, the page requested and browser information.

3. Purposes and legal basis

  • Responding to your request, preparing a proposal and conducting pre-contract discussions: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, Article 6(1)(b).
  • Preventing abuse of the form and keeping the site secure: our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f).

4. Recipients

Your data is shared only with the providers we use: Google Cloud for server hosting and Google Workspace for email. They process the data only on our behalf and on our instructions. It is not shared with third parties for marketing.

If you write to us on WhatsApp, your messages are also processed by Meta Platforms, which provides WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. Using this channel is optional.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

As we are established in Türkiye, the data you send us is processed outside the EEA. There is no European Commission adequacy decision for Türkiye. Transfers to our service providers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses offered by those providers or on adequacy decisions. You can request a copy of these safeguards by email.

6. Retention

Correspondence about your request is kept for one year after the request is concluded and then deleted. If your request leads to a contract, the retention periods required by the applicable legislation apply. Server logs are deleted automatically after fourteen days.

7. Your rights

Under the Regulation you have the right to:

  • access your data and obtain a copy (Article 15),
  • have inaccurate data rectified (Article 16),
  • have your data erased (Article 17),
  • restrict processing (Article 18),
  • data portability (Article 20),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21),
  • lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country (Article 77).

8. How to exercise your rights

Write to info@silsilepress.com. We respond within one month. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity.

9. Other information

Providing your data is not mandatory, but we cannot respond to your request without your name and email address. Your data is not used for decisions based solely on automated processing or for profiling.
